Our Comprehensive Care Includes Dental Education for Our Patients
At Elite Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Kyle Thompson and his friendly dental team are committed to make your smile dreams come true. We believe that great dental health begins with home care and dental education, especially creating a daily oral hygiene routine that keeps your teeth and gums healthy. We recommend the following:
- Brush every morning and every night with fluoridated toothpaste. If you want recommendations for which toothbrush works best for you, please ask the dental team when you come in for your regular checkup. Oh, and brush your teeth for at least two minutes! Don’t press hard against your teeth and gums!
- Floss at least once a day. Again, if you’re not sure what kind of floss is best for you, ask us at Elite Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. We’re happy to help!
- Use an oral rinse after brushing and flossing. Again, make sure it’s fluoridated. Rinsing your mouth removes debris loosened by brushing and flossing, and contributes to good breath.
Remember, terrific periodontal health creates a lifetime of oral well-being. If your gums bleed when you brush, feel swollen, or looked discolored, you may have gum disease. The same oral bacterium that causes gum disease has been linked to health issues such as heart attacks and strokes. Please contact Elite Family and Cosmetic Dentistry if you think you have gum disease, and we’ll schedule periodontal therapy for you.
